I'm new to this website thing, what is it you are offering?

I will explain what it is here. I realize that this can be a bit confusing to some of you that are new. It's all pretty easy, just give it a chance.

300 megs of space

  • Space is where your store your web pages. 300megs would be more than plenty of space for an average website with lots of pages and lot of photos. As an example, this FAQ site and my billing site is only using 35.79megs of space and my Craft shop http://handmade-pens.com is using a full e-commerce solution, Zen Cart, with 10 products and 30 pics and only using 16megs. So 300 megs will go a long way.

2000 megs of bandwidth

  • This is the amount of information moved from your site to your viewers computer. If your viewer requests a web page and this web page includes a few pics and text and is, lets say 10k, you have used 10k of bandwidth. Now this is a simplified explanation, but it is basically correct. Why do I have to limit this? Is because my account is limited also, if I meet my limits, I have to upgrade my account, and if I have to upgrade, it cost me more money. Then I have to charge my client to cover this cost. And I don't want to do this and probably never have to.

5 mySQL databases

  • mySQL is an open source database engine for the web. If you want more information on it, just Google for the name. That isn't what we need to worry about here, we need to worry about what is 5 mySQL databases. When you use software like Zen Cart or a forum or even this FAQ program, they require a database. A database is a place to store information like your products in Zen Cart. Why 5? Well, if you want to run Zen Cart for your store software and a forum for your customers to discuss their new pen purchase you would normally use 2 databases. There is exceptions to this rule, but I won't got into that, now.

10 ftp accounts

  • What is FTP and how do I use it.This will explain what FTP is. Why do I need 10 accounts. The reasoning behind this is, if you have 5 people working on your site for you. You give each of them their own ftp account. You never give them your root access, this is the user name and password to your main account. This way they have access to your files, but no access anywhere else. And if a person is done with their work, you delete the account and they are locked out.

10 parked domains

  • A parked domain is a domain that you want to point to your account. For instance, you own http://your_domain.com, http://your_domain.net and http://your_domain.org. You can park 2 of these domains and if your viewer types in any one of these domains, they will get your site.

10 add-on domains

  • While I don't suggest this, you can do this. Add on domains is so you can have 2 up to 10 separate websites on one account. An add on domain will point to another directory in you directory tree. If you type http://your_domain.com it will go to your main site. If you type http://addon_domain.com it will go to your other directory. This is nice when you have your shop on one domain, and your family photo site on another. They are on the same account but handled differently via DNS. The reasoning behind not doing to much via addon domains, is it does add to your total bandwidth, the more traffic you generate, the more bandwidth you use and then you risk the chance your site getting shut down when you reach bandwidth limits. In most cases, this will never, I REPEAT, will never happen. So don't worry about it.

10 sub domains

  • Sub domains is easy, let say you are running a store as your main site and a forum as a secondary program on this site. And you want an easy URL for your users to type in. You can add a sub domain. As an example, to get to this site you can type it 2 ways. http://tfw-designs.com/wiki/index.php5 (and if you DON'T type this exact you will get a blank page or a not found error) or you can use a sub domain http://wiki.tfw-designs.com both get to the same place just one is easier to remember, especially for those who are not web savy.

10 email address

  • This is pretty self explanatory. Why do I limit it to 10, I have found that most clients never use more than 2 accounts.

MS Frontpage extentions upon request

  • Microsoft had a web page editing program call, Microsoft Frontpage, that uses some software that is required to be on the server. I leave it optional, because most clients don't use it.

Cpanel with Fantastico

  • cPanel is the program you use to administer your website. You can add email address, ftp account, sub domains and parked domains amoung a lot of other things.

Free Site Builder Software

  • This is software you can put on your account that your can use to build your site. Instead of building your site on your computer then uploading via FTP, everything is done directly on your site. It is a wysiwyg editor. (What you see is what you get).

Free Setup

  • I don't charge for setting up your new account.
